It is expected that Airtel will be the first telecom company in India to introduce 5G services.

After years of waiting for a 5G connection, one of India’s three most significant telecommunications companies, Bharti Airtel, has a launch date for the technology that powers the fifth generation of cellular networks. In a recent press release, Airtel announced that the company would offer Airtel 5G services across the country before the end of this month.

With great pleasure, we let you know that Airtel will begin the rollout of 5G services in August. According to a press statement released by the firm, our network agreements have been finalised, and Airtel will engage with the most significant technological partners worldwide to give our consumers the full benefits of a Airtel 5G connection.

Benefits of a 5G Connection

According to the press release, “Airtel will be able to roll out 5G services that span ultra-high speeds, low latency, and large data handling capabilities through the choice of multiple partners,” which will enable a superior user experience and allow for the pursuit of new and innovative use cases with enterprise and industry customers.

Bharti Airtel was awarded the privilege to use 19867.8 MHZ spectrum in the 900 MHz, 1800 MHz, 2100 MHz, 3300 MHz, and 26 GHz frequency bands during the most recent spectrum auditions held in India by the Department of Telecom (DoT). The news came shortly after those spectrum auditions. Airtel has entered into deals with Ericsson, Nokia, and Samsung to use them as network partners to bring Airtel 5G services to the country.

Reliance Jio and Vodafone Idea

Reliance Jio and Vodafone Idea are two rival carriers that have not yet stated their intentions to the public that they would launch Airtel 5G. However, according to a recent article published by TelecomTalk, Jio Chairman Akash Ambani disclosed that the company might launch its 5G services on August 15, which would coincide with India’s 75th Independence Day celebrations.

Even though neither telco has provided an official launch date, it is likely that all three of India’s most significant telecom carriers would compete with one another to be the first service in the country to create a full-scale 5G network.
